Carnival Pride Review cruise ship

Have you ever considered taking a vacation with no driving, no hassle and no worries for 7, 10, 14 days or more? How about a cruise? If you’ve never been to one and not sure whether it would be right for you, read on. With all the cruise lines, cruise destinations and various range of price available, there is a cruise for just about everyone.

We were a group of 4 from Canada. We booked a 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise with Carnival Pride departing from LA, USA. We made arrangements to stay a few days in LA where we visited Hollywood and the famous Venus Beach. It was the perfect start of our vacation.

On the day of our cruise departure, we head over to the pier and upon our arrival, we were immediately struck by the awesome sight of the Queen Mary, and our cruise ship was absolutely enormous as it sat there waiting for us.

It took about 45 minutes to check our luggage in and board the ship. Once on the Pride, we found our beautiful stateroom with private balcony, met our room steward, and our luggage magically appeared in our cabin. It’s true that Carnival ships remind many people of newer Las Vegas resorts. We unpacked at once and made ourselves feel at home for the duration of the cruise. After watching the ship set sail from our balcony, we went for walks to get our bearings. We discovered a spa, overlooking a fitness centre filled with exercise equipments, and a hot tub in the middle of the work-out area separated by a glass wall from the rest of the room.

The first two days were sea days. We ate everything in sight, and just acted like people on vacation. The crew members are some of the friendliest and most entertaining folks I’ve ever met. The second day was nice and warm, we lounged around on the deck. They have plenty of deck chairs at the centre lido pool, we never have problem finding seats.

The cruise vessel has activities for the whole family 24 hours a day. A state-of-the-art theatre for quality shows and entertainment, which are all included in the cruise price. Different entertainment are featured in the theatre every evening of the cruise. They also have a number of theme bars, lounges and a disco with live music that are open into the early morning hours.

Caring For The Tapes You Make With Your Camcorder

Because your camcorder is an expensive purchase, most people put a lot of thought in the caring and storage of it to be sure that will have a long life. But what about the tapes you have recorded? They are the main reason you have purchased a camcorder. Typically a camcorder owner puts little thought into taking care of their recordings. They wrongly assume that keeping them stored in their home with climate control is enough.

Your Camcorder Recordings Worst Enemies

Just like a still camera, the tapes you make with your camcorder are vulnerable to magnetic fields along with heat and humidity. Whether you have audio or video tape, floppy or zip disks, the storage and care you give them will make the difference between a lasting recording and a cherished moment that has been forever erased or ruined.

A Portable Trade Show Exhibit Makes for an Easier Show

You can make your trade show experience much easier by using a portable exhibit. Since you control everything related to transporting it and setting it up, you won’t have to hire firms to for those things for you.

In contrast, a large exhibit requires you to rely on others to ship it and set it up - during which any number of problems can arise. For example, your exhibit could arrive late at the trade show, or not arrive at all.

But by transporting your portable trade show exhibit yourself, you avoid the need to deal with a freight company and keep track of bills of lading so you can trace your shipment or make a loss claim on a missing display.

Instead, you can simply bring your portable trade show exhibit right along with you, knowing where it is at all times, and bring it into the expo hall yourself when you arrive.

Your portable trade show booth is also safer from damage than larger displays, which may be punctured, scratched, or torn by machinery during transport and drayage. And although your booth repair kit may enable you to fix up minor scratches and dents yourself, how can you repair a forklift puncture hole in your display? Having portable displays that you can bring by yourself alleviates the possibility of this type of expo disaster.

Another advantage of a portable booth is that you can set it up by yourself fairly easily - which eliminates the potential headache of having a hired crew set up your display. A large display would require you to direct each crew member’s part in setting it up and taking it down.

But your portable trade show exhibit can be put up by you alone, or by you with one assistant. Portable booth setup is quick and easy, and you can handle the whole procedure yourself. And taking down your booth after the expo is just as efficient when you’re operating alone or with just one other person.

A Guide to Specialty Art Paper

Hi, my name is Michaela Blassnig from www.TheArtCanvas.net. I hope you enjoy this fantastic article on choosing the right Specialty Art Paper. Read below and if you’re interested in finding out more, visit my website at www.TheArtCanvas.net.

Creativity is a tricky endeavor. To get the right look, you need the right materials. As any artist knows, anything can serve as a canvas, but for the truly exquisite look, you need something special. In this short guide, we’ll explain some of the art and craft products available and some possible applications for these products.

Curious iridescent paper is certainly one of the oddest products on the market today. Normally, embossed iridescent paper is not so much a paper, but more like plastic or a thin, flexible and colorful metal, and as such, is well suited for sculpting and other crafts. Iridescent paper is often made by foil stamping and lasers on light-sensitive chemicals, and can only be used as a writing media with dry-erase or permanent marker. Curious iridescent paper, however, will absorb ink and can be used for any variety of projects from drawing, painting and writing to crafts such as collages, paper mache sculptures and scrapbooks with a little extra flair and texture.

Vellum makes a unique, translucent, and slightly iridescent paper for accenting crafts. Originally made from animal skin for scrolls, vellum has remained in common use to this day, especially in England, where British Acts of Parliament are still printed on nothing but vellum paper. Most modern vellum imitation is made from acid free cotton and is perfect for calligraphy and other projects requiring an antique or rustic look. Thin vellum paper and glue make a beautiful laminate for crafts such as scrapbooks and leaf catalogues.

One of the medium vellum cardstocks of note is Bristol paper, a smooth, heavy pasteboard of fine quality. Originally made from pasted rag paper in Bristol, England, this hard stock is often the choice paper for technical drawings, but offers intriguing creative possibilities. Bristol is unique in that it is thick enough to have two working surfaces “front and back” that will not interfere with each other and each side can serve as its own writing or drawing surface. Artists working with friction-based media, such as crayon, chalk, or charcoal will want to use a rougher texture board, while smooth finishes are generally more suited to other types of media, such as inks and watercolor.

For a breathtaking and unique look, silk paper provides a strong yet soft alternative to more mainstream options. Silk crafters have been making paper since the 2nd century, B.C.E., and it has stood the test of time. Originally a product of China, it is the oldest of all luxury papers and is still in major use today throughout the world. It is truly amazing to witness the limitless creative uses artists and craft persons have found for silk paper. Machine embroidery, three-dimensional sculpture, jewelry, quilting, book coverings, collage, and mixed media are just a few of the possibilities, and the list is limited only by the artist’s imagination.

Globalization and increased efficiency in paper production opens up a whole new world of possibilities to today’s artist. While at times the sheer bewildering array of new papers may seem overwhelming, for the professional artist or graphic designer who is willing to take the time to explore such oddities as McCoy silk papers, Curious iridescents, or Springhill vellum bristol, the results can be quite gratifying.
